The Treasure Hunt – Hilma Weber

Hilma Weber was born and raised in a small village in northern Namibia, Southern Africa.

Her passion for early childhood literacy was sparked by the lack of books during her own childhood. It was only in her early professional career that she discovered the joy and richness that reading books brings.

In 2019, Hilma initiated an early childhood development program in Namibia. She began distributing boxes filled with donated children’s books to kindergartens in informal settlements (slums) and spent time reading to the children. These interactions, along with her own childhood experiences, inspired her to write children’s books.

Hilma has written several children’s books as part of early childhood development programs, and thousands of copies have been distributed freely to children from underprivileged communities.

She currently lives in Switzerland with her husband and son and continues to write.
